Annie Neil cast her first-ever presidential vote, which was for Kamala Harris, outside the University of Oregon student union on November 4, 2024. “I was excited to vote for a candidate that I saw myself in as a black woman,” said the UO student. Even though Oregon is a traditionally blue state, she’s excited for her voice to be heard, she said. “Representation is everything and, you know, for my daughters and for my sisters. I want them to be able to see themselves in the president.”
