Election Day 5:32 p.m.

The bar was empty, pop music was blaring, and the TVs were showing a replay of a college football game. None of the TVs showed any 2024 election coverage at The O Bar & Grill in Eugene on election night. The bartender, Seven (like the number), displayed disdain for the election process and refused to change the TVs when asked.

“This is a sports bar. No politics here.” Seven, a veteran who refused to vote in this election, said. “My vote has never mattered in Oregon. Whatever happens, happens.” He would have voted if he lived in a swing state, he said.
